This Art Deco Ruby Ring with sparkling diamonds makes the perfect engagement ring!

This dazzling handmade unheated natural ruby and diamond ring was made circa 1920. It is crafted in solid 18K white and yellow gold.

This ring is a size 4 US. It can be resized. Price inclusive to resize, there is no charge for this service.

The ruby and diamond set face of the ring measures approximately 3/4" long by 3/8" wide and rises 3/16" high off the finger (18.4mm 9.0mm x 4.5mm).

It weighs approximately 3.8 grams.

Inside the shank there is a makers mark which I cannot read even with the microscope although it is possible to make out two cursive letters and what I believe is makers mark.

Professional testing confirmed solid 18K yellow and white gold.

This amazing antique ring is completely handmade with no cast or machined elements. The workmanship is exquisite as is the wonderful selection of intense red rubies and exceptionally sparkly natural diamonds.

The total diamond weight is 0.66 carats VS clarity and H in color.

The total ruby weight is 0.42 carats.

Here we have a total ruby and diamond weight of 1.08 carats.

These beautiful rubies look more red than many of the photos show. The closest photos to the color in person are those showing this ring on the hand.

This navette shaped three stone precious gem and diamond set ring is in a traditional style popular from the 1870s until the 1920s and again today. This particular ring is an exceptionally lovely example.

Of exceptional rarity and beauty this antique ruby diamond ring is in beautiful condition and is ready to wear.

A full appraisal will accompany this unique unheated ruby ring.

We will ship in a presentation box ready for gifting and for safe keeping.

Unfortunately, in the last two decades many rubies seen in modern jewelry and rubies set as replacements in vintage and antique jewelry have had the color induced by high temperature heating in chemicals such as beryllium. This is called diffusion treatment and includes surface diffusion, bulk diffusion, lattice diffusion and deep diffusion. There are also sapphires treated heavily with beryllium treatment to imitate rubies. In recent years rubies have been clarity enhanced by filling any fissures or cracks with molten lead glass, sometimes the glass is colored as well, with time the filler falls out or goes cloudy ruining the stone. Polymer resins can be used in a similar way. Oftentimes this clarity enhancement may appear on certificates as the note(s) “residues” or “minor residues” or perhaps “foreign substance”. Colored coatings can be applied to the back of a ruby. These treatments are unacceptable and such treated stones are of very low value. We do not sell rubies with these treatments.

The photos form part of the description. Like all colored stones there is a color variation that occurs in different lighting conditions both inside but also outside, even the time of day can make the color of a stone appear a little different. We do our best to show colors as we see them. Color perception is highly individual and some people can perceive more colors than others, also colors can appear somewhat different on different screens and devices due to variations in screen hardware and device display settings.
